Casablanca and Rabat Tour
Fall in love with Morocco’s intoxicating blend of modernism and tradition during a trip to the cities of Casablanca and Rabat. Drink in the splendour of the country’s sightseeing destinations with your own personal guide, making stops at sites like the Hassan II Mosque, the Dar al-Makhzen, and the Chellah Necropolis.
Your outing begins with convenient pick-up from your Casablanca hotel via air-conditioned vehicle. In the early-morning hours, trace a careful route to several of the port city’s renowned attractions, stopping first at the Hassan II Mosque, whose sky-scraping 689-foot (210-metre) minaret helped establish the mosque’s status as the largest Muslim worship site in all of Morocco. From here, head to the Casablanca Cathedral for a look at an important Neo-Gothic cultural centre in the heart of the city.
Next, trade the Islamic- and French-influenced landmarks of Casablanca for the hustle and bustle of the capital, Rabat. Consider grabbing a bite before motoring to the official residence of the King of Morocco at the Dar al-Makhzen. Stroll through the Metreechouar, or parade grounds, and marvel at the exquisite motifs adorning the palace’s exterior. Pay a visit to the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Hassan Tower, whose walls are made of red sandstone, and have a look at the Chellah, a mediaeval necropolis once used as a royal burial ground, before your tour is through.
