Day 1 Arrival in Beijing

Upon your arrival at Beijing airport, our guide will be waiting for you outside the customs of Beijing Airport, and then transfer you to the hotel. Relax during the remainder of the day.

Meals: No meals, advice freely available

Accommodation: The Great Wall Hotel Beijing (5 stars) – the former Sheraton

Day 2 Beijing

Your tour today starts at Tiananmen Square, the world’s largest square in the city center. Towards the north lies the magnificent Forbidden City. Nowadays, it is opened to the public as a museum where traditional Chinese architecture, cultural relics and royal families’ lives are displayed.

A la carte lunch (valued at CNY150.00 per person and included in our price) will be at a well-known local restaurant which serves authentic Chinese food.

In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Heaven. Finally, we will end the day with a lively Chinese Kung Fu Show at the Red Theatre.

Day 3 Beijing

A morning excursion will take you to the Badaling Great Wall and then a jade factory. It is the most completely restored section of the Great Wall, which winds itself up and down across mountains and resembles a gigantic dragon.

Lunch is not arranged today, for there are no good restaurants at Badaling area. Thus, our advice is having a heavy breakfast at the hotel and having some fast food around the site by yourself.

Your visit continues with a visit to the Sacred Way. On the way back to the downtown area, we will drive by the Bird’s Nest (Olympic National Stadium). The driver will make a short stop for photo shoot.

Day 4 Beijing – Xian

In the morning, you will pay a visit to the most famous imperial garden, the Summer Palace and then a pearl store. Take the opportunity to experience a memorable rickshaw riding through Hutongs. Feel the special Beijing culture and history by visiting the famous romantic Shichahai, Bell tower or Drum tower and a local flavored family.

Enjoy your a la carte lunch (valued at CNY150.00 per person and included in our price) at a decent local restaurant before your flight to Xian. Meet the local guide upon arrival at Xian. You will be transferred to the hotel.

Day 5 Xian

Your itinerary today starts with the world’s eighth wonder, the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. The museum houses the 2,200 years old life size clay warriors and horses, as well as the delicate bronze vessels. The excavation work is still ongoing up to today. After that we move to a pottery-making factory.

Around noon, visit a local family and be served with an authentic home cooked a la carte lunch (valued at CNY120.00 per person and included in our price).

You will proceed to the Small Wild Goose Pagoda & Xian Museum in the afternoon. A splendid night is in-stored when you enjoy the Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show and partake the famous Dumpling Dinner.

Tips: Since the Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show will be closed in Jan, Feb, Mar and Dec, we do not calculate the price of the show and dumpling dinner for tours starting during this period. Clients will enjoy a free night by themselves.

Day 6 Xian – Lhasa

Take a morning flight to Lhasa. The local guide will be at the airport to meet and transfer you to the hotel. The rest of the day will be free. Try adapting to the high altitude first.

Day 7 Lhasa

After breakfast at your hotel, visit the Norbulinka Park. It is also known as the ‘Summer Palace’ in Lhasa because successive Dalai Lamas have handled political affairs and lived here during the summer months.

Next is the Sera Monastery. Not only can one see the unique Tibetan Buddhist buildings but also be impressed by the precious Buddhist statues, sutras and murals in the monastery. Then learn more about the local lifestyle by visiting a local family.

Day 8 Lhasa

Visit the Potala Palace, the highlight of our visit to Lhasa. With a history of 1,300 years, it is the most splendid building that combines the styles of Tibetan Buddhist temple and palace. The delicate cultural relics and beautiful murals in the palace will show you the glorious history and culture of Tibet.

After lunch, proceed to the Jokhang Temple and Gyangjian Tangka Art Store. Continue to explore the surrounding of Barkhor Street, the symbol of the City. Paved by hand-polished stones, it is not a broad street but showing the original outlook of Lhasa. Be fascinated by the old ethnic houses and various souvenirs available on this street. A visit to the nearby Nunnery will give you an insight of the Buddhist nuns.

Day 9 Lhasa – Shanghai

Explore Tibet Museum this morning.Later, leave for the airport for your flight to Shanghai, where you will meet and be escorted by the local guide to the hotel.

Day 10 Shanghai

Visit Shanghai Museum, praised as the largest Chinese ancient art gallery. After that, continue to the beautiful Yuyuan Garden, an unsophisticated world in the bustling city. You will feast on the most elaborate man-made scenery of this Chinese classical garden. A silk shop is arranged.

Later you will have a farewell a la carte lunch (valued at CNY120.00 per person and included in our price) at a famous local restaurant.

In the afternoon, you will be escorted to the Bund, where you will take a short cruise tour along the Huangpu River. You will also have free time to take a walk along the Bund area and feel the rapid changes of this metropolis. After that, transfer back to your hotel.

Day 11 Departure from Shanghai

Your wonderful escorted tour ends today. We hope you have made new friends and taken memorable photos. Please make sure you get to the airport on time as this transfer is not included in our service. Wishing you a safe journey home!

Quotation Includes

  1. The economy class airfare of Beijing/ Xian/ Lhasa/ Shanghai in the itinerary.
  2. Hotel standard twin room(s). The accommodation is based on two people sharing a twin room. If a single client requests a twin room alone, the single room supplement should be added.
  3. All meal arrangements are served as the itinerary specifies.
  4. Land transfers for you and the group between airports, hotels and all sightseeing spots as specified in the itinerary. Separate requirement for the transfers will incur extra charges.
  5. One English-speaking guide and one experienced driver will accompany you on the guided sightseeing tours in each city.
  6. Entrance fees for mentioned sights visited.
  7. Should your tour include a cruise, then the shore excursion in groups and activities will be subject to the arrangements made by the cruise company.
  8. Should your tour cover Tibet, the Tibet Travel Permit application fee is included.
  9. Tips or gratuities for the hotel porters in each city.
  10. Our quotation is calculated in Chinese currency (CNY).

Quotation Excludes

  1. The international airfare of arrival in and departure from China.
  2. Expenses of a personal nature such as internet access, overweight baggage charges, etc.
  3. Tips or gratuities for the guide and driver in each city.
  4. Tips or gratuities on Yangtze River cruise tour.
  5. China visa fees.


To acknowledge the hard work of guides and drivers during your trip, a tip is highly appreciated. The suggested tip per person per day is CNY30 to the guide and CNY15 to the driver. A more generous offering is welcomed if you are exceedingly satisfied with their services.
